Who’s up for traveling to Armenia on Saint George’s Day?
Yes, you read that right! Armenia.
@kleo.lafaraona opens the doors of her salon to a new culture and adventure, inviting us to end Saint George’s Day with a new experience, like one from a fairy tale. We’ll embark on a journey to Armenia on April 23, 2024, with the creature: “La Bala” @balabimbambum.
During this journey, we’ll savor Armenian culture, a different reality. We’ll learn a little more about the queer community in Armenia, its rhythms, dynamics, and struggles.
La Bala (Ô²Õ¡Õ¬Õ¡ – which means “child” in Armenian) @balabimbambum is an artist, drag activist, DJ, and art director. Their performative work as a drag didn’t arise from academies, but from an extreme need to express their repressed gender and the difficulties of their life. They address topics such as migration, their childhood, sex work, and the struggles of the Armenian people, among others. La Bala changes depending on the day: one day they might be a Drag Creature from another planet, and another day an Armenian sexual queen.
If you’re someone who enjoys listening, exploring, and living different cultural experiences, we’ll be waiting for you on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at 8:30 PM at @candydarlingbar.
Flower or book gifts for the pharaoh and the bullet are accepted 😉
