Ocaña, reina de las ramblas – espai Texas

With the actor and singer Joan Vázquez leading the way, accompanied by the guitar of musical director Marc Sambola, we pay tribute to Ocaña in a theatrical recital set to the rhythm of copla.

In “Ocaña, Queen of Las Ramblas,” the charismatic artist’s first-person words blend with renditions of classics from the genre he loved so much, including titles like “Tatuaje,” “Ojos verdes,” “Y sin embargo te quiero,” or “La niña de fuego.”

Playwright Marc Rosich, a profound connoisseur of Ocaña’s figure, has crafted an exquisite and poignant dramaturgy, revisiting the most important chapters of his tumultuous life and also his tragic death, when the sparks from a flare ignited the sun king costume he was wearing.
