Passenger Tales Photo Exhibition
15 November, 2022 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Passenger Tales is an artistic mediation project that uses participatory photography with migrant individuals, international protection seekers, and LGBTQ+ diversities. Participants from the first edition in 2021 will exhibit their works, and some will share their personal experiences in the project.
The project, directed by documentary photographer and Artistic Mediator Nuria Prieto, has been made possible with the support of the Barcelona City Council and the Acathi organization. It stems from the need to make these groups visible and break away from stereotypical and stigmatizing discourses. The methodology spans 7 months, during which participants develop a photographic essay exploring different dimensions such as identity, body, memory, and the migratory journey. It culminates in a photographic exhibition that promotes sensitivity and social inclusion.
Through the artistic language of photography, the 6 artists deconstruct and reconstruct their identities, strengthening them in the process. In their works, the image represents emotions told in the first person, using photography as a mediator and providing space for the self-representation of their thoughts and life moments.
Artists: C40Z, Jade Duarte, John, Mark Sire, Alejandro Amaya Jimenez, EstefanĂa Lacroix Urquiola.
