Workshop “No Drag Without a Body”
20 March, 2021 @ 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm
This workshop is designed for anyone who wants to explore and experiment with gender roles, offering a first approach to exploring a more authentic and liberating identity. Topics such as masculinity, femininity, and the representation of gender itself will be addressed. Through the practice of drag, the workshop provides us with the opportunity to recognize the diversity of possibilities in role representation and understand how these manifest and are expressed physically, thereby generating a greater awareness of our own identity.
“We were born, and the rest is drag”: The most authentic way to understand ourselves as human beings is in our childhood. By connecting with our inner child, we allow ourselves to play freely and be ourselves. For this reason, in this workshop, we shed preconceptions about who we are in terms of gender, granting ourselves complete freedom of expression in improvisation and stage work. Subsequently, we reclaim elements that allow us to live with greater authenticity and freedom.
